Home Alone, also known as Home Alone 2: Lost in New York, is a 1990 American Christmas comedy film directed by Chris Columbus, written by David Ronn, and starring Macaulay Culkin, Leonardo DiCaprio, Kiefer Sutherland, Joe Pesci, Daniel Stern, Joe Pantoliano, Joe Viterelli, and Kathy Najimy. The film is a sequel to the 1988 film Home Alone (1988) and the third installment in the Home Alone film series. Unlike the first film, Home Alone 2 was released in the summer.

Because no one made a Home Alone sequel in the five years between Home Alone 2 and Home Alone 3, Culkin played a different role. Starring as the younger brother of Jason Bateman's character from Home Alone, Culkin plays 13-year-old Kevin McCallister, a child star from the popular television show, Home Alone 2: Lost in New York. He reunites with his sister, with whom he was separated in Home Alone, and their parents, who are vacationing in Europe, after their divorce. Kevin goes on an adventure with the help of his friend, Marcie. The film was shot in New York and California, and was released in June, 1990.

In the first Home Alone movie, a young Kevin McCallister (Macaulay Culkin) spends Christmas alone in his house after his family and friends go to visit his grandmother (Joe Viterelli) in Florida. Wanting to play some video games, he calls his friends, who tell him that his parents (Joe Pantoliano and Joe Viterelli) are out of town on a trip and his family is traveling separately. Kevin is shocked to learn that his older brother, Peter (Joe Pesci) is also in the house. While he is not bothered by this, he soon learns that Peter has come to take care of him. After a series of unfortunate events, Kevin decides to spend Christmas with his family in Florida.
